die asmodian scum
this past month has had its ups and downs. on the upside, jenny's taken an interest in an online game I've been playing, so we've been playing together a lot. I play a cleric, and do my best to keep her alive, while she plays a sorcerer, blasting the crap out of everything. Last night, we even ventured into enemy territory, for some Player-vs-Player mayhem. Playing with her certainly brings some much needed new life to the MMORPG experience.

The downside being that this genre tends to suck the life out of a person, if you let it really hook you. I haven't been making it to the gym at all. Started out as just this one week where I was pretty sick, but then I never quite managed to get back on track with it. I've had more trouble than I used to staying on track, though. It was so much easier to stay focused, when I was lonely and frustrated, and just wanted to get out of my apartment and pound on something, anyhow.

Plus, I miss HRD. While there are pros and cons to both places, overall, I felt HRD was more fun. That made it a lot easier to drag myself there. Not to make excuses though, I do plan on getting back to the gym tomorrow..

Haha man I remember I was totally addicted to online gaming. My friend is trying to get me back to it,but I have no time for it anymore. Starcraft really got me hooked so badly, haha no joke :P

Yeah, when I can't even sleep without dreaming of stats and numbers from the game, I know I have a problem :)

MMORPG
Hello Josh,

It seems we have a lot in common. Finances, motivation, perhaps even a malaise for life? Is that even correct grammar? I wonder what game your playing? I do DDO: Eberron, because it is free. No one to play with though and I hate meeting people on-line.

Cheers!

Mike.

Re: MMORPG
ugh, sorry for the delay. I don't check the email account often that gets the notifications that someone's replied to my post. it's where most of my spam goes, because i use it for things like this, facebook, myspace, etc. but i have to remember to check it more often..

anyhow, yeah, i'm giving DDO a try, although I've been feeling burned out on the MMO genre. i always end up coming back to it, but lately I keep playing Bioshock II, instead. as for meeting people online, yeah, i hear you. same here.

i'm sure we probably still do have at least a few things in common. i wonder how much anyone really changes, because i dunno, i feel like i'm pretty much the same person i was when i was 15. i've figured a few things out (like, beer isn't so bad, afterall!) but for the most part, i still think too much, play too many video games, and get pissed off at society and random inanimate objects on a daily basis.

malaise for life, indeed :)
